FACTS ABOUT KIWI

Hello and welcome to my piece of writing about kiwis. I will be talking about three facts about Kiwis and they are going to be very interesting so hope you enjoy and lets get started.

An average of 27 Kiwis are being killed by predators every week! so that would mean that 1,400 Kiws are being killed every year which is very sad because they are our native birds.

Kiwi’s are flightless, they have no wings or a tail. All they can do to get away is run. For a small bird, Kiwis lay really big eggs.

The largest species of a Kiwi is a ‘ Great spotted’ Kiwi and the smallest Kiwi is a little spotted Kiwi. There are only 11 species in the world.

That is just a few interesting facts for you about NZ native bird the Kiwi.

Task description: learning about Kiwis and how there going in NZ.
