Writing Work

With films like Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 all slated for release in 2019, it’s safe to say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is sure to dominate the box office for years to come.

you don't have to be a comic book geek in order to enjoy the Marvel movies. Started back in 1939, then known as Timely Comics, Marvel Comics has created and provided countless stories for modern-day filmmakers to pull from to keep creating movies for years to come. Their characters are household names known around the world: Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Wolverine, Spider-Man, the Hulk, X-Men, the Fantastic Four, the Hulk and so many more. These characters are just as popular as that other legendary company with popular animated characters: Disney. So it makes sense that the two companies would join forces in 2009 when Disney purchased Marvel Comics' parent company, Marvel Entertainment, for $4 billion. Now combined, it's certain that Marvel characters, and films, are here to stay.

Even though there have been Marvel characters in film and TV for years, it wasn't until 2008, when Iron Man was released, that the new era of Marvel domination started. Led by producer Kevin Feige, Iron Man started the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a film franchise that has gone on to become the highest-grossing film franchise in film history. Three films, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and The Avengers, are in the top 10 of the highest-grossing films of all time. This universe connects all the films to each other, with characters making crossover appearances in a number of films (for example, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and basically all of the Marvel Avengers in Captain America: Civil War).

With films like Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 all slated for release in 2019, it's safe to say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is sure to dominate the box office for years to come. So what are the Marvel facts behind these great films? Where do some of these characters come from? How does Stan Lee not explode from a creativity overload? We'd compiled all the Marvel facts you need to know now, before you watch that Marvel film for the 100th time. Slide through to learn a thing or two about the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It’s safe to say that anyone who calls themselves movie fans – or just anyone who has been conscious for the past decade – knows a whole lot about Marvel. They’re the company that created our favorite heroes, the braintrust that made our favorite films, the corporation that we’ve given hundreds of dollars of our hard earned money to over the years. With the monumental leaps Marvel has taken in the comic book, TV, and film space over the past few years, it’s easy to forget that Marvel has actually been around in one form or another since 1939.

So while everyone knows something about Marvel, like any company that’s been around for eight decades, Marvel has a rich history filled with unique facts that aren’t widely known. In the interest of appeasing Marvel die-hards who want to know absolutely everything that’s occurred while their favorite heroes are off saving entire planets from destruction, we’re excited to present

While Marvel was creating every character they could think of in the '70s (including Dazzler, a disco inspired character) they were also apparently working on copyrighting words and trying to be the only ones who could use said words. Marvel must have thought there was big money in this idea, as from 1975-1996 Marvel actually owned the rights to the word “zombie.” While everyone at Marvel HQ must’ve been giddy about this fact as they roamed the halls in their bell-bottom jeans and perms, eventually they realized that it just wasn’t possible to enforce such a trademark.

While the idea of a Marvel-controlled Walking Dead or Zombieland is an interesting one, perhaps even more interesting is the word that Marvel still owns to this day; “superhero.” Yes, one of the most ubiquitous words in pop culture is actually trademarked by Marvel, along with DC. So while Batman and Superman can be called superheroes along with Spider-Man and Iron Man, indie publishers and other media – like NBC’s Heroes – actually can’t use the word. And if you think this is a trademark Marvel doesn’t care about, think again; in 2013 they sued indie publisher Cup O Java Studios for using the word. More like sue-perhero, right? No? Okay, but still, be careful when using the word superhero in case Marvel is right behind you.

CROSS-COUNTRY

WALT: learning to recap a previous event

Hello and welcome to my writing about our cross-country that was on Monday.i had lots of fun because we just had to run for the hole day.

We were waiting for the yr7's turn to run, some of us were supporting and watching the other people that were running and some of us were resting and waiting for our turn to run. We also had colors that we had to represent and we had 4 colors witch was yellow, green, red and blue. The color that i'm in and mostly wins witch is yellow, so the hole time we were waiting i was supporting the MIGHTY YELLOW.

So we were running for our turn and at the starting line i was very nervous because i did not know if i could achieve my goal witch was  coming in top 5 but i came top 20 but better then coming any other place. When we were running i was getting tired when i got to the playground, the beginning of the race was super muddy and that was the hardest part we had to run on, it was very hard because my feet were getting stuck every single step i took.

Out of all i think that me and all the others did pretty good and all were pretty fit, even though some people came last they still tried their best. Also thanks to all the supporters the came to cross-country for their children or friends.

Writing work

WALT: Understand what is needed for Persuasive Writing

Hello and welcome to my peace of writing, this piece of writing is about the first day back at school. The assembly we had was to welcome the kids back was amazing and here are a few reasons why.

The first entertaining thing that we did in the assembly being surprised by our principles to see them in front of the stage. They were cooking fish and while they were cooking the fish we got to watch some movies that our teachers made for us about the korero for this year and that part was a little bit relaxing.

The second amazing thing they did was making fish for us. They cut little pieces and serve them on a tray or a plate and send it out to good people who were sitting up nicely. The fish that I liked was the shrimp and the smoked fish and man that was nice.

The last and final enjoyable thing about the assembly, that this type of assembly was different. Other assemblies aren't much fun so it's good to have a change in our assemblies. Also this assembly was actually entertaining and it was also very calm and nice because normally it’s very loud and there are also bad notices after the fun notices. So having no notices at all was really great.

Overall the assembly was very amusing and entertaining and I think that our principals did a good job of cooking the fish and entertaining us and also a big thank you to them.

FACTS ABOUT NZ NATIVE BIRD THE KIWI!!!!

WALT: Use the elements of an Information Report to write a report about different topics.

FACTS ABOUT KIWI

Hello and welcome to my piece of writing about kiwis. I will be talking about three facts about Kiwis and they are going to be very interesting so hope you enjoy and lets get started.

An average of 27 Kiwis are being killed by predators every week! so that would mean that 1,400 Kiws are being killed every year which is very sad because they are our native birds.

Kiwi’s are flightless, they have no wings or a tail. All they can do to get away is run. For a small bird, Kiwis lay really big eggs.

The largest species of a Kiwi is a ‘ Great spotted’ Kiwi and the smallest Kiwi is a little spotted Kiwi. There are only 11 species in the world.

That is just a few interesting facts for you about NZ native bird the Kiwi.

24 packs of starz were the normal price of $9.60.
6 packs of pepsi were on special for $3.00 per pack.
each sold for $2.00
the answer is $48.00

because he bought 6 packs of pepsi
and bought 24 packs of straz

so the answer is $48.00 because 24 x 2 = 48

FACTS ABOUT LIONS!!!!!!

WALT: understand the elements of informational writing.

Facts about lions!

Do you know some facts about lions? Well i am going to tell you some facts about the lions so sit back relax and enjoy this piece of writing.

First facts about lions, did you know that Lions usually live in groups of 10 or 15 animals called prides, they just hang out in little groups and i bet you that they hunt with their prides. The second fact is that An adult male’s roar can be heard up to 8 km away.

The second facts about lions is this and i think you will like this one did you know that A female lion needs 5kg of meat a day. A male needs 7kg or more a day that is heaps of KGs that is way to much for humans. The next fact is that The name for a baby lion is a cub, whelp or lionet those are really cool name am i right?.

The third facts about lions is that Lions go on the hunt for food mostly from dusk till dawn. Female lions do 85-90% of the prides hunting, whilst the male lions patrol the territory and protect the pride that’s cool to. The next fact is that In the wild, lions live for an average of 12 years and up to 16 years, they live up to 25 years in captivity.

The fourth and maybe the last lot of facts is that Often known as the ‘king of the jungle’, most lions actually live in the savannah or grasslands. Just one population of wild forest-dwelling lions remains, in Gir Forest National Park, India that is a lot of places. The next fact is that Female lions reach two-thirds of their adult size by the time they are two years old.Female lions reach two-thirds of their adult size by the time they are two years old wow they grow pretty big and even though there little cubes i think they will still tear us apart so i recommend to still not mess with a cube. The second to last fact is that Lions run at a speed of up to 81 km ph that is really fast. The very, very last fact is that Lions hunt large animals such as zebra and wildebeest there pretty strong aren't they.
Thank you for reading my story hope you enjoyed.

Meeting

Today we were told to sit and listen to three very important guests that had something to say about themselves and some personal advice. The three people's names are famous rugby player for the blues, Tanielu Tele'a. The second person was Mr's Telea's sister, Fiona Balculich who also in fact works in the show The Caskateers. The third was a good friend of Mr Tele'a, Jason who works at ITM as a builder. All of these three people all have something in common and I reckon it's that they are basically all family and have the same thing to share altogether!
